The Garden Plaza at Tamarindo Heights

The Garden Plaza, located in the very heart of Tamarindo Heights, is just five minutes away from Tamarindo downtown by car. Pedestrian visitors may not realize that if you walk past the estuary, you find Tamarindo's largest shopping center with our best supermarket, the Tamarindo Automercado.

The Automercado supermarket carries the best brands, imported or local and with accessible prices. You will find a huge liquor and wine selection as well international brands like Kraft, Campbell's, General Mills, as well as Costa Rican favorites like Monteverde and Dos Pinos. It opens Sunday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. They also deliver. The Auto as it is known by locals is definitely the best place to do your shopping if you are going to buy for the whole week.

In addition to the grocery store, you will also find the Tamarindo IPhone store. Opened in 2010 by owner Mr. Alvaro Padilla, it offers electronic equipment including chargers and printer cartridges, cell phones and accessories. They have famous brands like Nokia, Sony Erickson, Alcatel, Blue, and computers from Toshiba, Assus and AOC. They are going to have the Apple distribution for the area in June 2012. Soon they also are going to offer computer maintenance, with a Master in Electronics, graduated from Virginia Tech University. A great place to go for all of CPM's guests who have to work on their vacation. The I Phone store is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Many of our guests want to stay caught up on sports while they visit. Romeritos Sports Bar offers a variety in liquor, wine, beers and great cocktels. Their menu is mexican and gringo food, very famous for its hot wings and they feature 4 different screens with your favorite sports: baseball, football, boxing, hockey, soccer. They also have a pool table and 2 football tables where you can play with your friends. Opens at 5 p.m.

Scotia Bank is also at the Garden Plaza since 2008 and offers personal banking services such as: checking accounts (cuentas corrientes), savings accounts, cds (certificados a plazo), investment funds (fondos de inversion) and more. Their schedule is from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
